We provide quality niche instruction from Game Professionals to help students learn useful skills while relating to something they are passionate about. Designed by game industry veterans from LucasArts, Microsoft, Sony, EA and Activision, Game-U’s summer camp curriculum gives kids a fun, inspiring, hands-on learning experience!
Adventurer: Ages 6-8
Designed to excite and inspire, our Adventurer Camp introduces our youngest students to the amazing worlds of games and robotics development, together in one camp. In this camp they’ll tackle new challenges in topics ranging from game design, 3D printing, illustration, robotic engineering, electronics and more!
Intro to Robotics: Ages 7-11
Learn Engineering and Robotics skills through hands on experiences with the Lego Mindstorms EV3 system. Participants will create customized robots and learn programing basics. After learning the basics participants will work in small groups to overcome engineering design challenges. The challenges will help build key life skills of cooperation and critical thinking while also developing engineering understanding using problem solving skills and the design process. Challenges will be varied to meet the needs of all learners and interest levels.
Advanced Robotics: Ages 10+
Students learn how to assemble electronic circuits and program Arduinos to control glowing LED’s, add functioning knobs and buttons, rotating motors and servos as well as touch sensors. Campers will learn basic 3D modeling skills for use in for use in creating their own 3D printed parts for their robotic project.
Explorer: Ages 8-10
A hands-on, kid friendly learning experience that teaches the major aspects of games development, such as level design, character design, programming, materials, lighting and audio. This is achieved using multiple game development editors, such as Project Spark™, an exciting new 3D game development editor!
Pioneer: Ages 10-12
Get your start creating full-length, 2D side-scrolling adventures, space shoot-em-ups, puzzle games, minecraft mods and more on pro game tools! Students use editors like GameMaker and Construct 2 as they study the fundamentals of game design, computer programming, and pixel art with the option to publish their games for iOS, Android, or web browsers. Your only limit is your imagination!
