Each summer, the On-Campus Continuing Education Department opens its doors to children ages 6-13 and entering grades 1 – 8 as of September. Our six-week Summer Youth Program provides academic instruction, recreation and cultural indoor and outdoor activities. We have a wide selection of programs that offer math, reading, writing, phonics, fine arts, video gaming, coding, dance, acting, singing, arts & crafts, computer, science, and sports. Computer and recreational activities are also incorporated in the daily schedule. Programs are scheduled on a 2 or 3week rotation according to age or grade.
Our indoor and outdoor activities play an integral part in the youth program. We believe these unique experiences can encourage lifelong learning, enthusiasm, and commitment to service, self-confidence, and a stronger sense of community among participants.
We have been fortunate enough to see many of our previous participants grow up and accomplish their goals by being successful students in high school and/or college. As a result, we believe that our Summer Youth Program is very beneficial in the lives of those who attend. In fact, some of our students have returned to help as aides in the classrooms with the same teachers that helped shape them into the individuals they are today.
